TO FLETCHER HOTEL AMSTERDAM
That 'blue hotel' next to the highway A2 close to Amsterdam. The Fletcher Hotel Amsterdam has become a landmark by the highway to and from Amsterdam. Especially in the evening, when it gets dark outside, the striking blue appearance of this unique hotel certainly draws attention! This hotel and its one of a kind lighting has widened quite a few eyes! Livingprojects turned the Fletcher hotel into a true eyecatcher in collaboration with Signify (formerly Philips Lighting). Our job? An extensive engineering process, various demonstrations and the installation of the façade lighting. Three different phases, all of which presented a considerable challenge. But you know, we are always up for a challenge.
WOW, THATS A CHALLENGE!
The round shape of the hotel façade put us up for the challenge to find the right fixtures to match the curve. Luckily the eW Graze from Color Kinetics was a match made in heaven with its small features. Now the building is not only illuminated evenly, but we were also able to install the fixtures in such a way so that the window cleaning installation can still move up and down freely. How rather convenient!

How we decided which fixture was the right match? Based on a number of test setups. Following a demo, the choice was clear: fixtures with cool white lighting. We placed 40 lights on the top and 40 lights on the bottom of the façade. For those who sometimes take a ride on the A2 from or to Amsterdam; you can’t miss it!
